This is really weird - I had the exact opposite experience. After falling about laughing when Paul Whitehouse sat at the table as a doctor in a black & white sketch in episode 6 and said "what appears to be the tribble" I was left wondering how on earth you write commedy like that? What I'm saying is that I don't think it was funny on paper at all - or was it? Whatever it was, I can't see it in a bad light - it's part of what makes me enjoy Harry & Paul

Does the BBC actually pay them for this rubbish? - schoolboy crap. And comments such as those made towards Gove's wife are childish and offensive to everyone - not at all clever or funny, especially at this time in the wake of the Savile affair. In fact their swaggering was rather like that of Savile. Only watched to see how bad it would be - won't watch again.

I don't FaceBook and I don't Twitter, but I still feel that there is enough web/mail/blog digital dialogueing out there for me to contribute to.

Need I remind you of our mutual friend Peter who wandered round Rackhams shoe shop in Birmingham in the 1960s searching for the shoes he wanted and the price stickers of a price he could afford. I stood by him as he 'married' the stickers to his high quality shoes. With those skills it's unsurprising in later life he rose to Marketing Director of one of Europe's largest companies.

As a generality, I wondered what the ratio was in the world of bloggers of blogs written, to blogs read? As a frustrated author myself (but books not blogs) I can see the desire to burst into print, but wonder whether in fact there is more written than read?
Separately, of course there are peelable stickers - we all know the Post-It note story. But when the retailer does use peelable stickers, there is a whole industry of potential customers swapping stickers around - either for amusement or to obtain the value of the sticker from something not scheduled to be so.
I once followed someone around a Waitrose , who was happily transferring price reduction stickers from nearly expired food to her weekly shopping basket's goodies.
As for the Waterstones stickers - may be the fact they are so well stuck is that they've been stuck a long time. They didn't sell at full price and were it not for Parthur, they'd still be unsold?
